Even with the uncertainty over the funding of the food stamp program, Valley residents continue to step up by donating money, food and time to help those who are on the verge of loosing those funds.
The food drive comes as some federal employees who have missed one full paycheck and a partial paycheck during the shutdown are tightening their belts.

The effort comes as the ongoing shutdown of the federal government threatens to disrupt benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, better known as SNAP.
